  Want to quit Bible study

  hi i was just looking for some advice.

  i have been studying with the jw's for over a year now, and attended 2 memorials and the district/assembly conventions.

  at first, and up until very recently i truly believed what i was learning was the truth.

  This weekend (April 23rd and 24th) is the English Circuit Assembly at Ebina Assembly hall at the Branch for all the English congregations in Japan. From the sound of your posts, you are probably NOT going to attend. Does your conductor know about this already? If so, what was her reaction? Most likely she will be there and would have pressured encouraged you to be there also.

  Also, the part about you working full-time. Will that be on base or off base. You cannot be an unbaptized publisher if you work on a military base. Maybe that will get you off the hook. Does your conductor know about your intent in this regard?

  has anyone noticed that the wts has so many videos/dvds about the organization, some about the bible and others about youths or the ministry work?

  they even have a video/dvd about noah and david.. but i noticed that they haven't produced any about the one whom they claim as their king, jesus christ.

  Has anyone noticed that the WTS has so many videos/DVDs about the Organization, some about the Bible and others about youths or the ministry work? They even have a video/DVD about Noah and David.

  But I noticed that they haven't produced ANY about the one whom they claim as their king, Jesus Christ. Why?

  Who Was Your Favorite Speaker?

  no brag, just fact---i was the most requested speaker in my hall(s), i was often requested to give talks in kh's all over the place, not just in my area.. i personally enjoyed speakers who taught you something, not merely recited something.

  we had a district overseer, paul illingsworth, i loved his style.

  he delved into bible words of the original greek and hebrew.

  Charles Valorz (DO in the USA, currently in California. Instructor for the MTS school as well).

  Great at reasoning and visualization in his presentations.

  From what I gather, after the death of his wife a little over a year ago, his health and the sparkle in his eyes have being going downhill pretty fast.

  Still Stuck Inside: Coping by Seeing the Cult Personality as a Child

  as i've mentioned on the board before, i am still inside (for now) hopefully until i can get my children to start thinking more on their own.

  one way i have been coping with all the ridiculous nonsense around me is to see and treat the cult personality as the child it is.

  realizing that has helped me to understand how intelligent, articulate people remain as cult members.

  Things That Matter and Things That Don't

  being a jehovah's witness at any time and at any level is a major head f*ck.

  the reason is that it obscures what is important and causes you to focus on what doesn't matter.. i've moved on from my jw experience.

  it's a shame that i found myself a born in, taught to focus on things that don't matter.
